Which part does my Zero take?

1,010 Zero part numbers across 19 subsystems, carrying 1,036 fitments between them. Zero’s owner manuals print none of these — not for the belt, not for the pads, not for anything — so this is the only place in this project where a part number exists at all.

Read each fitment exactly as it is written. The Years and Models columns are the catalogue’s own words, reproduced verbatim and never expanded. A row scoped “Gen2” or “S(R)+DS+FX” does not thereby fit every bike in that family: widening a scope token into a model list is how a parts table starts asserting fitment nobody told it, so this page does not do it.

These rows come from catalogue pages last edited 2020-04-26 – 2020-04-27. Zero has revised hardware since. Confirm any number with a dealer before ordering.

The year filter reads a parsed range: “2015-2017” answers for those three years and no others, and it covers 1036 of 1036 fitments. The model filter matches the catalogue’s own token literally — it is not a list of motorcycles, and nothing here expands one into a set of bikes.

Worked example: front pads for an FXS

This is the question the index was built to answer, and it shows why the scope strings matter more than the numbers.

Note what the scopes say. For front pads the FXS is grouped with the S/DS platform (25-08029), not with the FX, whose front pads are a different part (25-08027). The calipers settle it independently: the FXS front caliper is catalogued 25-07686SDS+FXS” while the FX’s is 25-07687XMX”, and the owner manuals print the same front-brake sentence for the FXS as for the S, SR, DS and DSR. A table that had expanded “XMX” into every small-platform bike would have sold this owner the wrong pads.

And read the years literally. 25-08029 is scoped “2015-2017” while the caliper runs to 2019 — so for an FXS from 2018 on, this catalogue carries no front-pad number at all. That is a gap, not a licence to use the 2017 number.

The answer that does not go stale

A pad is bought by shape and replaced by measurement, and Zero prints the measurement in the owner manual every year. For the FXS it is the same figure throughout: 0.05 in (1.35 mm) or less, replace both pads. Per model year, with the page it is printed on: MY2016 p.80, MY2017 p.80, MY2018 p.82, MY2019 p.84, MY2020 p.82.

The shape you need for an equivalent is on the component map: a J-Juan asymmetric dual-piston floating caliper on a 320 × 5 mm disc.

One thing this page deliberately does not settle. The same archive also holds an aftermarket cross-reference table, and it groups the FXS with the FX — contradicting the three catalogue rows above. That table is also demonstrably inverted on another row: it lists the SR/F’s rear pad code as its front, where the catalogue and the SR/F owner manual’s own figure captions agree it is the rear. So we publish neither aftermarket code for this bike. The code is moulded on the back of the pad you are about to remove.

How do we know these numbers are real?

Start with the weakness. Every row comes from one source: 67 pages of a single community wiki, all edited on two days in April 2020. There is no second catalogue here to check them against, and no page of ours has been confirmed with Zero.

Two things corroborate them, and both are measurements rather than arguments. The first is a direct cross-check: exactly 1 code appears in both this catalogue and Zero’s own service manuals — 20-03065, which the SR/S service manual 8811934-AI lists as “Foam” and the catalogue calls a PORON foam strip. Same part, two independent documents, and they agree. One is a small sample and we report it as one.

The second is the numbering itself. Zero encodes the subsystem in the first two digits of a part number, and this catalogue is consistent with that scheme to the row: of 21 numeric prefixes, 20 map to exactly one subsystem, covering 837 rows — 90 is fasteners, 25 brakes, 22 suspension, 46 battery. That matters because the prefix lives inside the number while the subsystem came from the page the row was filed under: a fabricated or badly transcribed list does not partition cleanly across two independent things.

And one defect we found and fixed, reported because it bears on exactly this question. On 35 rows the part-number column held a table row index — 100, 101, 13 — with the real code pushed into the description. Publishing “100” as something you could order would have been worse than publishing nothing. 30 were recovered from their own description; 5 carried no code at all and were dropped rather than shipped with a number we invented.
